Leading up to International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11, 2023, we’re celebrating all the inspiring women at CHRIM! We’re proud to have over 270 female pediatric medical researchers, technical staff, students and support staff making significant contributions in child health research that will have long term benefits to children and families everywhere.

We have all learned that when there is gender equity in STEM, there are improvements in general society, universities, businesses, and in individual well-being. Better for everyone, everywhere!

Throughout history, there has been a significant gender gap seen across all levels of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines all over the world. Even though women have made tremendous progress towards increasing their participation in higher education, they are still under-represented in these fields.

CHRIM provides equal opportunities for all researchers and labs regardless of gender which can be seen in the various grants and awards competitions held throughout the year. This extends to our annual Child Health Research Days conference which brings together top researchers from a variety of backgrounds to discuss and collaborate on the latest evidence and topics in child health research.

It is so important to meet women and girls in STEM to gain mentors, supporters and role models to see what life is like in this space.
