About the RSU

The Research Support Unit (RSU) gives researchers at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba access to world class facilities, equipment, and services for conducting their research, as well as administrative support.

Staff are highly trained and qualified in pediatric research processes and can answer questions from parents and patients about child health research and participation in studies.

To assist researchers in their study, the 8,000 square foot unit includes:

  • 7 examination rooms
  • Meeting space
  • Secure drug and sample storage
  • Basic lab space (including -30OC and -80OC freezers and +4OC fridge)
  • DXA scanner
  • Ultrasound machine
  • Blood pressure machine

Investigators are encouraged to contact us for a tour of the unit and discussion of the services the RSU can provide.

Families in Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and Nunavut are offered the opportunity to participate in our research studies, as we tackle tough medical issues with study outcomes that are helping shape the health of children today and in future generations.

If you are interested in participating in a research study, please contact us to learn how you can get involved.
