Research Focus

My research is focused on understanding the molecular and metabolic regulators of pancreatic insulin secretion and how these are altered in type 2 diabetes in children. We also have a newer focus on understanding how the early life environment and genes interact to influence kidney function and renal disease in T2D.

Research Interests

- Islet Biology
- Gene-environment interactions in childhood-onset T2D
- Developmental origins of T2D
- Developmental origins of renal complications
