The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyateand Dene, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and present, and we recognize that systemic racism and unethical research practices have caused significant harm to Indigenous peoples. We dedicate ourselves to ensuring that the voices of Indigenous people are included in all stages of research and that research does not further harm Indigenous communities.
