Research Focus

My research examines gene-environment interactions underlying type 2 diabetes in Indigenous youth. As an Indigenous scholar, I strive to integrate basic science tools with Indigenous knowledge on traditional foods in pursuit of culturally-safe therapeutic strategies.

Career Goals

I hope to establish Indigenous-led, community-informed, and anti-oppressive research projects as an independent investigator. Secondly, to apply this evidence and inform policy in a way that addresses structural health inequities.
