Research Focus
My research focuses on how the cell death gene protein Nix plays a role in skeletal muscle insulin resistance, which is an important mechanism of type 2 diabetes (T2D). And, we propose a potential therapeutic approach to mitigate the metabolic derangements caused by Nix to prevent early-onset T2D.
Career Goals
To deepen my understanding of insulin resistance and to investigate novel approaches to treat early-onset T2D. In the future, I want to combine my clinical and research experience to establish a translational research program as an independent PI.
