Research Focus

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is among the most common metabolic diseases affecting children that results when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys the pancreatic Beta cells. My research aims to discover underlying mechanisms in Beta cells that drive this disease in order to develop preventive approaches and improve existing treatments.

Research Interests

- Pancreatic Beta cell stress responses
- Extracellular vesicle signaling
- Biomarkers for T1D
