Research Focus

My lab uses yeast model systems of rare genetic childhood diseases/ribosomopathies and of cancer.
We study Bowen-Conradi Syndrome, a rare genetic disease found in the Hutterite population of the Canadian prairies. Children born with this disorder fail to grow and die in early infancy.
