Research Focus

Ribosome assembly disorders/ribosomopathies - a group of rare genetic disorders typically with an onset in childhood. Regulation of ribosome assembly in growth, development, and cancer - the role of ribosome assembly and of ribosomopathies in the initiation and progression of cancer.

Research Interests

Determining the role of the EMG1 protein in ribosome assembly and in the molecular pathogenesis of Bowen-Conradi Syndrome, a rare ribosome assembly disorder/ribosomopathy present in the Hutterite population of the Canadian Prairies
