Research Focus

I study early language development in infants. My research involves both perceptual/experiment
approaches in a behavioural lab and observation of infants' realworld language experiences. I am
particularly focused on the role infant-directed speech in the language development process and how this
is similar/variable across contexts and cultures. I have also become very active in Open and Collaborative
Science, including as member of the Governing Board of ManyBabies (https://manybabies.github.io/).

Research Interests

Infant-directed speech, infant speech perception, cross-cultural comparative research, Big Team Science,
ManyBabies.
