Research Focus
My research focuses on respiratory physiology and mechanical ventilation, with particular emphasis on ventilator-induced lung injury and diaphragm dysfunction. I use both translational and clinical approaches to develop lung- and respiratory muscle–protective ventilation strategies. A key component of my work is the integration of advanced respiratory monitoring techniques, including esophageal pressure manometry, ultrasound, and electrical impedance tomography, to better understand the complex interactions between the lungs, respiratory muscles, and mechanical ventilation. Ultimately, my goal is to improve patient outcomes, enhance the quality of care, and contribute to the advancement of precision medicine in respiratory care.
