Research Focus

I bring an interdisciplinary clinical rehabilitation background in outpatient orthopaedic and sports physical therapy to my work. My research program to date has focused on exploring the use of resistance trainingto maximize health and performance and decrease sports injury risk across diverse populations. I am particularly interested in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and identifying plausible relationships between injury risk factors, prevention and management approaches and the gendered aspects of sport environments. My clinical training and years spent working on sport sidelines heavily informs a focus on applied practice to ensure my research resonates with knowledge users who are working directly with athletes in order to make real world impact.
