Research Focus

1. Using mouse models to understand gene's function, which led to identify a new regulator of telomere length (RTEL1) (Cell, 2004; Science, 2013) and a new PDGF ligand PDGF-C (Nature Genetics, 2004).
2. Using mouse models to determine several genetic mutations as identified by local investigators, such as Trim32, Emg1, Prune1 and GLRX5.

Research Interests

To use mouse models to understand the pathogenic role of PRUNE1 mutation in a paediatric neurodegenerative disease. We have generated the first knock-in mouse model (with PRUNE1 mutation) and the PRUNE1 conditional knockout mouse model which will be valuable for dissecting the role of this mutation in disease.
