Research Focus

My research focuses on the application of participatory approaches to the study and optimization of health and well-being. I have an extensive background in biostatistics, and care deeply about the social aspects of clinical and health services research. I also firmly believe that populations that are directly impacted by research have invaluable experiential knowledge that ought to drive research. Thus, I commonly integrate mixed-methods approaches that facilitate research that is grounded in people’s experiences and supported by hard data. Since 2018, my program of research has become increasingly focused on patient-oriented research (that is, research that focuses on patient and care partner identified priorities and outcomes and engages these knowledge users as co-researchers).

Research Interests

patient-oriented research; patient engagement in research; social behavioral and administrative pharmacy; cardiac research; social prescribing
