Critical Features in Teaching Safety Skills to Children
Presented by Dr. Rasha Baruni

This presentation will discuss the research conducted by Dr. Rasha Baruni on evaluating behavioural approaches to teaching and assessing safety skills. With a particular focus on increasing the accessibility of safety skills training across different approaches. It will include video self-modeling as an efficient and accessible approach for teaching safety skills to children with autism, a web-based training program for parents to teach safety skills to their own children, and an interactive computerized training approach for teaching behaviour analysts to conduct safety skills training for their clients with disabilities. This presentation will finish with a discussion of future directions for research in safety skills.
