Inclusive Dance Design: Where Recreation meets Rehabilitation

This session will explore the role of inclusive dance as a multimodal activity that can address both recreational and rehabilitation goals for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. We will review current evidence and perspectives supporting the therapeutic benefits of inclusive dance; as well as share co-designed strategies for creating inclusive dance opportunities in community and clinical settings. Practical examples will highlight how evidence and community-informed practices can be applied to promote engaging and meaningful movement opportunities.
