Research Focus
My clinical and research focus is the diagnosis and treatment of infants and children with inborn errors of immunity (IEI) / primary immunodeficiency, a variable group of genetic disorders affecting the immune system. Projects have included evaluation of targeted newborn screening programs for IEI (including for rare, local genetic forms of immunodeficiency), evaluation of treatment outcomes of rare immunodeficiencies, and international collaborative studies on novel/rare disorders. My current work is on the collaborative development and implementation of a national registry for pediatric and adult patients with inborn errors of immunity, gene editing for CD3delta SCID, investigation of vaccine immunogenicity in IEI patients, and involvement in multi-centre treatment consortiums for immunodeficiency (e.g. PIDTC).
