Funding Opportunity for Pediatric Acute Care

REACH (Research into the Enhancement of Acute Care for Children’s Health) is excited to announce the upcoming Trainee Grant opportunity. This grant supports research that will foster engagement, and collaborations to develop research proposals and/or advance the science of patient, public and/or knowledge user engagement in pediatric acute care research.

Grant Details

  • Award Amount: $7,000 each for two selected projects.
  • Purpose: Foster engagement, and collaborations to develop research proposals and/or advance the science of patient, public and/or knowledge user engagement in pediatric acute care research.Ideal for initiatives that lay the groundwork for larger studies aligning with REACH’s purpose.

Application Timeline

  • Opens: March 30, 2026
  • Closes: May 18, 2026, by 4:00 PM CT
  • Results Announced: August 17, 2026

Application Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Open to trainee at the University of Manitoba (e.g. undergraduate, masters, doctoral, post-doctoral fellow, medical resident) with a supervisor that can hold funds at UM committed to pediatric care improvement.
  • Requirements: Submit electronically by the deadline, complete the REACH membership form, and adhere to the budget and application guidelines.
