Research Focus

My current research program is focused on nutrition interventions for obesity, type 1 and 2 diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. I have expertise in the appropriate design and implementation of clinical trials, and I'm very interested in clinical trials involving interventions that are delivered via the healthcare system.

Dietary bicarbonate sources and metabolic acidosis in CKD
Dietary polyphenols, the gut microbiome and glycemic control
Resistant starch and diabetes
